I am not totally sure but when kids are online with the Xbox airport keeps dropping out seemingly at random. They have the box go into the wireless router and we have cable.
Could the Xbox be causing wireless drops?

I don't have an XBox and experience the same kinds of drops that you do. I've tried everything. Multiple routers, different DNS schemes (OpenDNS for ex.), moving the router away from the Cable Modem, Voodoo, Witch Doctory, Praying, Chanting, Tech Visits and it still does it. Grrrr. Comcast's ultimate answer is to say "Oh Well," too bad you don't have any other broadband options (I dropped them but had to get them back).

There is so much crap that affects wireless negatively... microwaves, cordless phones, etc. and you cram all that into one area in apartments and there is just no way to get reliable wifi.

There are other variables in the mix. We have three MacBooks online; a 12" PB G4, an intel MacBook in black and the new 13" MB. Of the three the black one never loses connection and it runs SL too. We have Comcast too but I have hesitated to complain because I really don't know if it is them.

I have a brand new router that's proved that it wasn't the router. It even drops when I'm connected directly to their modem. It wouldn't be a problem if Comcast didn't charge so much for everything.

Rememer 1, 6, and 11 are the only real channels to try.
