Before you all attack me, like I've been told you might, hear me out. I have used a mac since I was three years old. When, I was nine, I decided that I was going to be CEO of Apple someday. I have been dreaming of Cupertino ever since, and when I got to college, I started working to make that dream a reality. I love Apple, almost as much as Jobs himself, just like all of you. Still, you've got to admit, that ever since Apple went mainstream, it's just not what it used to be. I never had a problem with one of my macs until a year and half ago, and since then, it seem like I've had nothing but problems. My FOUR-MONTH-OLD 13" MacBook Pro died yesterday, possibly as a result of updating Snow Leopard to version 10.6.2. The Apple support discussion boards are littered with similar stories. Apple has always been expensive, but we used to pay for quality. Now, it feels like we may just be paying for a brand. Maybe Apple is cutting corners, using lower quality parts to cut down on their costs, but if that's the case, why haven't I seen any price cuts on the consumer end? I'm not by any means anti-Apple. I love the company dearly; I've built my life dreams on Apple. I just want reliable products, and I don't think that is too much to ask for. I want the old Apple back. I was hoping that you might be able to help me. I'll probably get a legal notice from Apple, but I am writing formal complaint letters to all of the Apple executives. I know that love can blind us, but if you've had a product or three fail you or if you've met an incompetent and patronizing Genius, help me tell Apple that we're not going to pay thousands of dollars for crappy computers, even if they are pretty.

Welcome to the forum bro. But you're opening line is not a way to make friends, regardless of where you go in life. Not that it bothers me, I can see why you might feel that way and so I don't think anything of it.

It should be covered by a 1 year warranty, did Apple somehow refuse to fix it?
You didn't give much of a description of what "died" means, but if it was a hardware problem then it should be covered by the warranty and should be fixed at no cost to you. That's what warranties are for.

I've had several championship level battle matches with them. Only regarding laptops. I love my Macs but it seems the day they decided to call normal people geniuses, my Frustration with them began.

Wow, his computer is DEAD!
Really?
The computer isn't dead, dude.
And even if it were, it's covered by warranty. 100% insurance policy covering parts and labor. Not clear what you are crying about.

OK, on the chance that you are frustrated rather than a troll, you need to relax a second and be glad you have made back ups. Any time you are working on any computer, there is a chance that you could have a problem. Apple's computers are made from parts, and parts can fail. OR, your computer may be loaded with third party apps that are not fully compatible with your latest system install. In any case, Apple will help you. Make the call and express your problem to them. They will make some suggestions and more than likely they will find the cause of your problem. If not, they will send you a box and you will send your computer in to them. In around a week, your lovely laptop will return with the problem solved and most likely, your data will be in place.
If you were the CEO of Apple, wouldn't you rather that people would follow my suggestion rather than trash the whole company because one computer was having difficulties?
