Help with Flash in Browser locking up
#1
I play Rummikub online at Rummikub.com. It appears to run the games in Flash. It had been working fine on my MacBook until about 2 weeks ago. Now it let's me login and click on 'play now' and it goes to a rotating wheel of the tiles and the number in the center advances until it gets to the room number it put you in.

It used to go to 80s or 90s and then you are in a room to play. Mine locks up on 39 now. The tiles continue to rotate but it never gets past 39 always stops there. Like this:

Things I have tried so far:

1. different browser - I use Firefox 3.5.5 so I tried it in Safari 4.0.4 - same thing locks at the same place - browser is still useable, I click on another page and it goes

2. downloaded latest Flash from Adobe - I have version 10,0,32,18 installed - I uninstalled and then d/l and installed version 9 - locks in same place - I have reinstalled 10

3. reinstalled the combo updater for 10.6.2 - no difference

4. repaired permissions, reset the PRAM, tossed every .plist file I can find related to the browsers, Flash, etc.

I set up a new user and can switch to the new user and it plays fine. Only problem, I have so much on this thing and hate to migrate everything to the new user. I migrated once before (on another computer) and it takes forever to get all the permissions straightened out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

The only other thing I can think of is to start up in Safe Mode and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't do it, you could verify and repair the disk, if needed.

That leads me to believe that it must be a file in your home directory. I would look in Users/UserName/Library/Preferences and move anything that has to do with flash to a folder on the desktop. Also check the Application Support folder and move anything related to flash in there as well.

I tried the safe boot. Also booted from OS X DVD and repaired my Hard Drive.

Moved a few items out of my home folder preferences and Application support.

Still the same as it was, locks up at 39.

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I will migrate to the new user.
