probably picked SEP/OCT 2009

If dipped in 1-MCP maybe 2008 :-)

Apples are usually harvested in the fall, September and October.

I grew up in a town with 3-4 orchards, and one of them had an enormous cold storage facility. I can't remember whether it was just urban legend, or info from one of my high school friends who worked there during summers, but supposedly this place only opened up their deep storage 2-3 times a year, and one of those times was to put all the apples in.
