DOMINO effect?!......is Domino Pizza's new recipe a hit....?
#1
....seems so (or might just be the novelty of trying it?)....as profits double....

Domino's profit more than doubles on new recipes

....Revamped pizza and a frank advertising campaign helped Domino's Pizza Inc. more than double its fourth-quarter profit as curious customers tried out its new recipe, the delivery chain said Tuesday.

Executives have said that the chain decided to start overhauling its recipes more than 18 months ago after mounting criticism from focus groups and on social media sites. And it boldly admitted in a series of documentary-style spots that under its old receipe, customers complained its crust tasted like cardboard and its sauce was reminscent of ketchup.

The company began promoting its new pie, which has a new sauce and cheese combination and herb- and garlic-flavored crust, in December. That helped the company's profit climb to $23.6 million, or 41 cents per share, for the three months that ended Jan. 3......

.....The question remains, though, whether Domino's can keep the momentum going, or whether the novelty of the new recipe will wane......

The last two Dominos pizzas we bought they were mostly dough. Maybe the wife don't know how to order pizzas. I told her to not order for me anymore.

This is what pizza is supposed to look like.

I mostly agree... (except for the olives... ).

Historically, the Domino's around here have been crap.
I've had Domino's Pizza's in other areas that were OK, but not great.

If the local one shapes up, I might give them another shot.

I never really thought of Domino's as being horrible, but certainly not a top tier pizza. But it has always been cheap, and if you're hungry enough sometimes taste doesn't really matter that much. Used to get a stack of their $5 medium pizzas with some friends and split them up. I'm not sure what people expect for those kinds of prices but I guess it's a good thing they are trying to improve the flavor.

The last really good pizza place around here, Schiano's, in Winston-Salem closed years ago.

We got Domino's last week and everyone agreed it was improvement.

Well, not to brag but...this is what we serve at carnivals-

So I'm less than impressed with Domino's.

We have too many kickass local places here (surprisingly) to even consider calling a chain. If I was at someone's place and they already had Domino's, though, I'd be curious to give it a try.
