Photoshop Elements 8 rebate question
#1
Go ahead and make fun of me if you must, as long as somebody answers my question. Smile

I got my MegaMacs delivery yesterday, and I'm both a little confused and a little suspicious.

The Elements package was opened before it was shipped to me, because the original seal is cut, and there are new seals that were put on that clearly say they were applied by MegaMacs. There are also a couple of stickers that were applied by MegaMacs. Now to the part I can't figure out...

The rebate form says that I have to remove Tab 1 and submit it with my rebate form. Does anybody know where Tab 1 is? I sure can't find it on the outside of the box, unless it's under one of those after market stickers, and I haven't wanted to break those seals that were applied. Is Tab 1 on something inside?

I didn't think it would be possible to get anything much more weird than the OS 10.4 installation disks I bought from LAComputer last year, but this might be close!

Thank you!

An axiom is that no matter which tab you send it will be the wrong one.

The one I received had the original seal cut as well. Suspicious.

I can't find any tabs! I know somebody else has gotten Elements and sent in their rebate, so I'm hoping for some help. Please? Help? Smile

With the back of the box facing you, open the top of the box, and on the left and right sides of the opening should be the two "tabs" that are folded down. The one that is attached to the left side wall of the box is "Tab 1". "Tab 2" is on the right.

Edit: to clarify, you can't see them from the outside of the box, you need to open the top cover of the box in order to see them.

I'm looking for the box, but can't find it here right now. I seem to recall tab 1, there is a tab 2, either in the upper corner or it was one of the small tabs on the flap. It's very small and easy to miss. Could it have been removed already?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I now have tabs 1 and 2, although they're still attached to the box for safety reasons. The top of the box had been opened and resealed, and I was trying to decide how to react if the tabs were gone. I'm sure glad I didn't put a lot of energy into getting upset, because there was no need. Thanks again! Smile

Glad this crisis is over Smile

Was the rebate form in the box too? I think it says that you must send in that original form.

Now that you have the box open, for some amusement look at the "Getting Started" booklet, and all the great information that starts just after page 13.

"Getting Started"? Hey, that's cheating! You're always supposed to struggle for at least several days before opening up the booklet. I would have thought you knew that by now!

No, I downloaded and printed the rebate form, and I just hope Adobe accepts the tacky e-mail that appears to constitute by sales receipt. We'll see.

I think I will stick with version 6. I don't see any improvements in 8 worth the $.
