anything extra or no better than GlassPlus or the like?
I'm particularly interested for the auto wind shield.

Ooh, free samples...
My friend had a can of it in his car but I guess it leaked or something because you couldn't spray it out anymore. So I can't really say if it worked or not.
EDIT:
NOT totally free samples- "All we ask is that you complete the form below and pay $4.50 to help offset our shipping and handling expenses."

I bought some once. (to use on my windshield)
I wouldn't use it again for free.

My (now old) Infiniti came with a treatment like Rain-X on the windshield. It was quite effective at causing water to bead up - almost did not need wipers. But it wore off.
I think Rain-X works reasonably well, at least until it wears off.

I don't think which cleaner you use matters so much. But I do think something like Rain-X can help the windshield stay cleaner. It starts to get dirty as soon as you finish cleaning it.
Also make sure to clean the inside of the windshield. Those on our cars tend to get a hazy film on them (which is a pain to get off).
Good luck.

If it actually works better than ammonia let us know.
Every cleaner I've tried that claimed to be better than Windex or ammonia needed to be cleaned off well just like Windex or ammonia.

cool. as I suspected. Back to Windex.
It is a royal pain to do the inside, but that's the worst part, vision wise.

This is just the worst for me, even after I get up in there with Windex and paper towels I can still see streaks, it's like there is a thick oily film that doesn't want to leave. Takes a couple turns at it before I am happy.
I've resorted to buffing the inside with clean terrycloth rags. This seems to work better than trying to use a cleaner.
