Attention Comcast Internet Users - Get Your $16 Bucks Before It's Too Late!
#1
It's too late to object to or opt out of the class action settlement against Comcast for throttling P2P users.

It is NOT too late to get your $16 bucks by joining the settlement and submitting a claim.

$16 bucks ain't much. It amounts to about 1% of what you would have paid for Comcast Internet service during the class-period.

...But if enough people claim their $16 bucks it might put just enough of a hurt on Comcast that they'll think twice before throttling people's legit use of the 'net again.

The deadline is August 14th.

Claim your $16 bucks here:

Right. You get $16 and the lawyer who filed the suit gets a villa in Tuscany and a new trophy wife.

And your Comcast rate will go up an equivalent $100 per year starting next year to pay for all that 'free money'.

Class action suits are nothing more than legalized blackmail by the lawyers. I'd rather see the FCC regulate them, and Comcast simply cut or hold their rates as an 'apology'.

People laugh and applaud class action lawsuits without realizing that the lawsuits reach through the company's pockets right into the consumer's pockets. It's dumb.

That's great.

But if you're a Comcast customer and you haven't opted out, you're included in the settlement whether you want to be or not.

The difference is that if you file now, you can be $16 bucks richer at Comcast's expense.

I will forego my $16 as a protest to stupid class action lawsuits where the lawyers make millions and the "victims" make pennies.

But it's not really at Comcast's expense. That's the point.

The point is that by not formally opting out before the deadline you've forfeited your legal rights whether or not you claim the $16 bucks so you might as well claim the $16 bucks.

Yep, it is too late to "opt out":

Exclude Yourself: Get out of the Class
'You may ask to get out of the Class and keep your right
to sue on your own about the claims in the lawsuit.'
Deadline: May 13, 2010

But it's not really at Comcast's expense.
Guaranteed, Comcrap will just increase fees to pay the settlement.

it's just C R A P T A S T I C ! !
