Vimeo vs ... what?
#1
I've had a standard Vimeo account for a couple of years, for hosting videos, and like it very much. I've been thinking of upgrading to Vimeo Plus, for $60 / year. That's not all that much, but I've been wondering if anyone here uses a different video hosting service they might recommend over Vimeo?

I'd hate to shell out the money for a pro membership, then find there's something else cheaper and better.

Suggestions?

Depending on your needs you might also consider a photo hosting site that also has a video option. You'll find more choices for quality, even beyond the YouTube/Vimeo "HD" stuff—again, if you want that.

I have a paid membership at smugmug and Vimeo... smugmug for probably near 5 years and Vimeo for just less than a year.

I don't use smugmug for video, mostly because I've not explored it, but part of the reason is that Vimeo really IS the premier site for showcasing high-quality videos on the web. I prefer it's embedable player for it's simplicity and clean presentation, and I really think it delivers the best quality on the web, especially for HD and especially over YouTube. The only other option I'd suggest you look at is Viddler, though it's paid options are insane in price, so if what they offer for free doesn't meet your needs, I vote jumping into Vimeo 1200%!
