Discretion the better part of valor re: chilled iMac? - apocketfulofwry - 12-23-2010 Given that my new-to-me refurb iMac has been sitting in a frozen FedEx truck for the last 8 hours or so, should I let it come back to room temperature before unpacking it and firing it up? Re: Discretion the better part of valor re: chilled iMac? - hal - 12-23-2010 I'd plug it in and leave it for several hours before powering up. Re: Discretion the better part of valor re: chilled iMac? - Doc - 12-24-2010 Don't even plug it in. Unbox it. Leave it alone overnight. Re: Discretion the better part of valor re: chilled iMac? - macphanatic - 12-24-2010 I'd take it out of the box and let it warm up. I'd wait to plug it in. Re: Discretion the better part of valor re: chilled iMac? - wowzer - 12-24-2010 Anticipation is making me wait...that's gotta hurt. Must've been no heat in the truck. I took the macmini out of the box, it felt like ice cubes. I didn't plug it in until the next morning. Grit your teeth and wait, Like doc and rgG say.
