jeebus! this is a deal site - we're all confirmed cheapskates - we go though extremes to save $1 on a purchase...

if fedex guarantees on time delivery (and they do) call them on it...

may well be that they are doing the 'fuel surcharge' thing - perhaps that isn't part of the deal....

That $65 wasn't earned in 12 minutes...how long did that envelope take to get to you? 24hrs? 48hrs? Canada to Singapore. I've had overnight shipments from Singapore to the middle of the U.S. come in just several hours - I wouldn't complain or expect a refund if it was an hour late, let alone ~10 minutes.

Unless is was absolutely time-sensitive, I could 'possibly' see your personal vendetta to get it all for free.

If I were FedEx I would probably just blow you off as a customer, unfortunately, and keep passing you down the line. lol

I guess some people here don't seem to realize that we're all trying to save a bit of money wherever we can. If a company guarantees something then they should own up to it.

The last time they were late they did not give her any sort of runaround about "fuel surcharge" or "you should have gone through Kinko's", etc. they simply reimbursed her credit card.

Anyone else have an issue with me bringing up this problem, please go ahead and put US$64 in my Paypal account and I will promptly shut up. Hey, even if you're willing to make up the difference that Fedex is trying to cheat me out of, I'm cool with that. Thanks.

Whether or not it is time-sensitive is not the point. Don't you expect a company to honour its commitments?

http://fedex.com/us/services/options/mbg.html

"We offer a money-back guarantee if we miss our published (or quoted, as in the case of FedEx® International Next Flight) delivery time by even 60 seconds, barring customs delays."

I'd probably leave well enough alone. But, FedEx really is shoving it your face by going so far as to say "by even 60 seconds". I can't blame IronMac for going after them. The whole point of being that explicit with their guarantee is to create an overwhelming sense of confidence in their services (versus their competitors).

Maybe it was held up in customs for 12 minutes.

Maybe that will be their defense.

I expect companies to honor its commitments (especially depending on what those commitments are and the expectations I had going in), but over something so small and meaningless that didn't affect me, I tend to error on reality, let it pass, and get on with life.

Time-senstive would matter to me, but that is still a case-by-case.

I don't go chasing ambulances just to see if I can make a dollar either or mess with the pizza boy because he was five-ten minutes past than the company's guaranteed delivery time, but that's just me.

After everything is said and done, you'll probably get what you want, at least in terms of whatever satisfaction this brings you, but my advice is to let it go.

Re: OT: Fedex Does Not Honour Their Guarantee? - IronMac - 10-26-2010

Well, if it's so small and meaningless, care to pick up Fedex's slack? I'll settle for US$20 and Fedex can kiss my business good bye.

I see quite a few people here saying that it's acceptable for a company to not honour their commitments yet I see no one taking me up on my deal. I'll announce the payee's name here once the funds are in although I think that maybe a certified cheque that's cleared and the funds in my account for 90 days might be best. You never know how much you can trust people these days. Wink

Just in case you aren't getting the hint - you're an anal-retentive ass. Let this go and spend your time worrying about the important things in life....
