I didn't even come close to equating them. In fact, if I was assuming they are the same thing, why even ask how they are different? As far as the analogy, if you need a car stereo and can get a car stereo AND a car for almost the same price, might that not be the way to go? I'm just making sure the car stereo that comes with the car will do what I need.
The fact is, they both look like they will do what I am going to do with (one of) them. So anything extra is cake, and the price isn't much different. I have no idea why they can't be compared, since we just did (oops?) kj.

Does Toast do everything Popcorn 2 does?
No.
If you go to the Roxio site, you'll find a comparison of Toast 7, Popcorn 1, and Popcorn 2.
THAT will tell you if you will be happy with Popcorn 1.

As I've said, I already did that, and most of the differences between popcorn 1 and 2 are "improved" this or that. That doesn't mean much to me, which is why I ask. Toast does everything I need it to do (including making PSP movies), but I would have liked to hear how well it does this. A few programs say they can do this, and they can't, so I'm hoping it works as advertised. Good lord, why did I bother asking when the product descriptions say everything there is to know about the two products? kj.
