Once I get the OCZ SSD, I will clone my boot drive (currently the 500GB 7200 Apple stock) and put in the SSD in its place. I still remember when I thought 100MB drives were huge! Not sure the impact on battery life, but I will let you know. Re: OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - sekker - 03-15-2011 I'm running SSD-boot drive, HD in optical bay solution in this Santa Rosa MBP. The battery life has improved over the straight hd/optical drive setup. Not really sure why except that the SSD uses less power, and the hard drive only spins up when accessing.
