Spam 1 can have perhaps 10 phone numbers: home, work, mobile, and 7 "others". When that is filled, create Spam 2, with a like amount of numbers. Give each the silent ring tone. That's what I'm doing and it works. Re: Can my iPhone really not... - wurm - 08-15-2013 Yep. As noted in my second post in this thread, that's exactly what i did and it seems to have worked fine. I'll know for certain when I don't hear (or feel) the next robocall that gets sent to voice mail. As for giving out cell phone numbers, it certainly adds to the possibility of telemarketers, etc. But even if you never give it out, the robocallers will eventualy get to your number(s). ![]() Re: Can my iPhone really not... - thermarest - 08-15-2013 A single contact can be in many groups. If two groups each containing a certain contact are assigned different ringtones, then there is a conflict. This could be the reason its not a 'feature' Re: Can my iPhone really not... - macphanatic - 08-15-2013 iOS 7 will fix this as there is an ignore option. Re: Can my iPhone really not... - davemchine - 08-15-2013 That's what I was thinking. Wait a few months for ios 7. Re: Can my iPhone really not... - AllGold - 08-17-2013 I just discovered the retardedness of my iPhone; that it doesn't come with a silent ringtone. There is a None sound for texts but it can't be used as a ringtone for calls. It's easy enough to add a silent ringtone but I think it's silly for it not to already have one. |
