I have heard great things about the ECCOs as well. I have also heard that they may not fit into your generous budget.

I have SAS EEE width (nice and wide), light, breathable, leather walking shoe:

I have orthotics in mine. Relatively dressy, except for the SAS logos.

Re: shoe recommendation - rz - 10-02-2013

I have never paid, nor do I think I'd ever pay $250 for a pair of shoes! I think I paid close to $100 once for a pair of "nice" hiking boots at the insistence of my wife, and the only time I ever wear them is at her parents' house in the mountains.

I have a couple of pairs of "dress" shoes that I wear once or twice a year when I get dressed up, like for a wedding or funeral.

I'm wearing Rockport slip on shoes right now at work. I probably paid $50-60 for them. They are very comfortable.

I need shoes with a stiff, supporting sole and have found Geox to be the best for me. I use orthotics and a lift in the left one. Breathable, $180 - $
