How does New Jersey indicate year/month for license plates?

I don't see anything on the plate in the videos.

No stickers... I guess they had stickers before but I lived here 7 years and no stickers.

Have you talked to her?

BTW, nice image quality in your video

Re: aggressive driver video - Don C - 11-16-2013

The stop sign in front of my house seems to be merely a suggestion. The worst offenders are now off to college (or somewhere) so it's not as frequent as it once was. I'd thought about standing in the front yard with a camera in hand, more to make a show, than to do any "enforcement" but it's not so frequent as to be a good use of my time.

You could certainly offer to show the video to the police and let them decide if it is worth pursuing.

(Car just roared through the sign as I was typing this!)

This is not intended to be evidence in court. I let's the police officers catch this drivers. If the police officer wanted to enforce the traffic laws, the fact that the license plate is not clearly visible in the video should not make a difference I guess

This.

s-t's trying to show that there *is* a problem. If the police are motivated, they can make the same observations and effect traffic enforcement. At this point it's not important that the driver be identified. That would happen if and when they affected a traffic stop. This would be much different if the driver had hit somebody and was not likely to appear in the area again.

More video should be acquired though. Just to get a traffic control device installed requires a documented degree of "danger", of actual collisions, or the obvious likelihood of same. This applies to getting enforcement at a particular area.

With cutbacks in funding and staffing it might be a to make his situation rise to a priority. If a collection of video isn't enough, maybe an elected representative could help.

Best of luck to you, s-t.

Wow, that's pretty bad to me. I've never seen anyone completely disregard a stop sign like that (unless they didn't see it). That person needs to be nailed. kj.

That's not just recklessness-- that's some sort of cognitive/neurological problem. How is that car not scraped and dented to hell?

Even more of a reason to pull her license. Driving is a privilege, not a right. If she is doing half of what is purported, she shouldn't have a license.

Re: aggressive driver video - mrbigstuff - 11-16-2013

my take is that she is familiar enough with the area that they know the only oncoming traffic would be to the left of the sign and the sightlines are good enough from the approach that they can surmise there is not an oncoming car. it does appear that the curve of the road beyond the sign would preclude a car from going head-on into traffic in her direction.

FWIW, the end of my street (a public road) has an odd angle where three other roadways enter, two of which are in the opposite direction. so, if you can see the oncoming traffic, many people don't bother stopping. it's quite a bit worse and much more dangerous than even this situation. not making your situation any better, but this is hardly unique behavior.

With instant access to computer databases you really don't need the stickers any more.
We still have the stupid things here in Ma though.
With the new cameras that can scan and read dozens of license plates per second they are really becoming a waste of resources.

+1 on that driver being irresponsible not aggressive - ignoring the obvious semantics she/he is increasing odds of hurting a child or pet driving so irresponsibly in an obviously populated neighborhood like that.
