Triangular vent window.
Same side mould of rear bumper.
Same chrome strip from the rear bottom line of the side glass to the back
Same slightly flattened rear wheel arch and rounded front wheel arch.
Similar shape of bodywork between side glass and rear glass.

Paul

Sorry about the size of the pic!

My guess too is a Barracuda -- with a custom rear window and trunk.

Paul- that's really close, but there are some minor differences, and one huge difference:
The chrome in the commercial over the window extends past the C Post chrome by an inch or so.
The C Post isn't as pinched in the commercial.
The rear bumper in the commercial extends much further forward.

But the big thing is that all those original Barracudas had a heavy chrome band below the rear window to hide the hinges for the trunk, followed by a trunk "bustle".
In the commercial, the band appears to be missing, and the "bustle" doesn't appear to be there.
So I'm going with a customized Barracuda at this point, or possibly a rare export version.

I don't think it's custom work... WHY?... to hard...
just photoshop. We don't see any perspective change/movement on the rear glass/decklid.
Photoshop. I still think.

I'm with Steve. It definitely started out as a Barracuda.

They don't have to create a custom car just for a commercial. All they need do is rent one. Not photoshop.

You're Captain OBVIOUS, too.
I mean, in general (UNRELATED TO THIS VIDEO)... WHY the hell would ANYONE do that? Until I see proof, I'm in the PS camp. CO

Modified 64-66 Barracuda. I used to own a 64 and a 65. Modified or 'shopped (back seat headrest looks weird).

Interior clues - a '65:

Commercial:

Note the metal plate below the vent window.

Just from my own experience and memory the first thing that came to mind was a '67 Charger. But it's definitely not that.

I think probably 'Cuda. Makes it rough when they show neither the front nor the back.

Re: What car is Captain Obvious driving? - Racer X - 05-26-2014

'cudas didn't exist until 1970. The proper name for the A body version is a Barracuda. The E body version had a performance line called the 'cuda. The standard ones were still called the Barracuda.

One HS friend still has his 70 383 'cuda, and the other still has his '72 340 Challenger.
