I'd like to borrow your jeep. Can you top off the tank and drop it off at my house by, let's say, noon tomorrow? :driving:

I hope you enjoy your new ride!

What's interesting is that 7 out of 10 of the top "American-Made" vehicles are from Honda or Toyota: http://www.cars.com/go/advice/Story.jsp?section=top&subject=ami

Keep in mind "American" also includes Canadian made.

Also keep in mind that Jeep is owned by Chrysler, and the merger to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is almost complete, and is headquartered in the UK (will likely move to Amsterdam), and the largest stakeholder is an Italian company.

This will allow Chrysler to move its tax residency to the UK.

He's still supporting the UAW and a lot of local employees more than just about anything else he could have bought. It would be great if there was a car made of US components, assembled in the US, but it just doesn't exist.

I specifically didn't get the hardtop. What's the sense? I see so many Wranglers with hardtops and all the windows rolled up and the AC cranked... That's not the idea of a Wrangler!
That's mostly the four doors too. My salesman says they sell 50 4-doors to every 2-door model! A fellow teacher said she was in heaven when Jeep started building them. She, too, always wanted one but with kids she had a minivan. Now she's got her Wrangler!

I've never understood you people...

But hal, you could've driven to the top of that isosceles triangle at Hetch Hetchy and gotten some even more amazing pix!

Well, yeah! You could say that about another thousand products the U.S. used to make.

It would be wonderful if corporate America returned to their roots and again manufactured their products here. Was it really worth it to ship all those good jobs offshore just so the rich could get even richer? Yeah, that really helped this country out. 8-)
