I have old Oregon Scientific that can have 3 external remotes on different channels.

Good stuff everyone, thanks. Yes, it's the same building..... will take some time and research the recs, but am I dreaming to think there's a chance one of these could broadcast to my home two doors down?

I've been using these Acurite Indoor Humidity Monitors in my apartment. One in the kitchen (and adjoining living room), master bedroom and spare bedroom/office.



I suspect they're very similar to the ones in Mattkime's link. The difference in humidity and temperature from room to room can be surprising! The first time I saw this, I thought one of the devices was busted but the numbers were consistent when i swapped them around the apartment.

If you look at the specs for those types of wireless thermometers, you will probably see a lot of "Transmission range up to 330 feet." Just like Wifi, walls, refrigerators and other obstacles will probably cut down the range.

Thanks. 2 city lots in between = ~ 50 feet. Worth a try...
