So part of the added clarity comes from going from a 24" to a 27", is that correct?

I don't particularly need more real estate. I mainly want crisper text and images, if that's an option.

There are more pixels per square inch in a 27" 2650x1440 than a 24" 1920x1080 - it's not that the screen is larger - there are 27" monitors that are 1920x1080 as well.

You should look at a 5K iMac. Or even a 21" 4K. Best Buy if no apple store nearby.

If you really dont think you need more real estate (which Im having a hard time wrapping my head around Wink then the only thing new 24" monitors will get you is fresher brighter screens. If I remember right, you have had them for a long time?

You could always buy a single 27 from dell and return it if you hate it. Ultrasharps come with that kind of warrany/return. Open a business account. Takes seconds and they seem to be pretty easy to get.

Text is smaller on a 27" screen, and thats where the 5K shines.

If you bring a thumb drive in and ask to see some photos on it, they have always said "yes" when I have asked.

I went from a 27" Thunderbolt Display to a LG 27UD88 W 4k and here's what I've noticed:
- The LG is brighter
- The LG is much more crisp on everything from text to the rounded corners of buttons
- It's so nice to have a matte screen again

I have them set to the same resolution. I can up the resolution, but I don't really want things smaller.

At home I have a pair of 24" Dells. At some point I'll buy a 4k display and keep using the Dells, but the 4k will be my main screen. The LG can be found for $600-700. If a comparable Dell 27" 2560 x 1440 is $500, I'd gladly spend the extra to go 4k.

Interesting, I was just looking at LG's 27" and 24" 4K monitors here, and oddly, their 24 is currently $420 and their 27 is $339. Not sure if that's a typo. It looks like their screen res is identical, meaning both are (3840 x 2160).

Anyway, glad to hear someone else has this unit and you're happy with it. Thanks for the info, MAVIC.

That's a different model than mine. At first glance I can tell it has different ports than mine. The specs seem to be mostly the same, but slightly different (eg brightness) http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/5fb1280b I have mine set to about 30%.

The kid bought a 24" 4K monitor. Looks great, higher res than the 1080P 24" monitor it replaced.

I bought a 4K 40" TV that looks good, but a TV only makes for a so-so monitor. My old 2560x1600p monitor looks better. I love the extra pixels though.

Having 3 monitors is 50 percent better than having 2.
Look it up...
