I fix my magsafe with parts if possible - it's usually a frayed cable.
If not, I buy from OWC.
However, I have had good success with third party USB-C chargers.

It confounds me as to why Apple can't make a decent cable that stands up to a lot of use.
Almost every 'Book adapter I've ever had, has frayed at the connector or somewhere along the cable. It makes no sense. Other manufacturers seem to have no problem.
At least with this MacBook, I can always buy a USB-C to USB-C cable and swap it in a heartbeat.

Their cable choice has baffled me from day one. 12 year old Dell craptop chargers are still going strong. And after working in the aerospace industry around satellites and aircraft, I can assure you that there are wire sheathing and insulation options that will survive anything you, I and our pets are likely to do to them.

I dob't know which Dell chargers you have been using, but my experience with the ones that go with the Dell laptops we lend to students at the library where I work is not the same. I have been in charge of keeping track of problems with the laptops for a dozen years, Dell laptops have been used for all but the first year and a half of that. Over time we had to get nearly 2/3 of them replaced under warranty or as out of warranty purchases due to the cables pulling out, fraying, or the plastic of the charging tip cracking.
Admittedly the most recent iteration of their charge has been a little better, only a couple have had problems with the cord pulling out. But already on units just over a year old I have turned in several to be replaced after the charging tip came apart after the plastic cracked open.

P.S. We also started lending MacBook Air laptops a couple years ago. So far only one charger has needed replacing due to problems with the cord. Though they are a popular target for theft and several times we have had to charge borrowers who lost one a replacement fee.
