Without even considering what the product is, the fact that there are only two reviews in almost two years on Amazon would make me cautious.

Do not even consider non-Apple chargers, except maybe for a reputable firm like OWC Newertech branded (if they make those, not sure, never checked).
Instead buy Magsafe cables on Amazon and learn how to repair.

Just buy one from OWC, not Amazon or eBay. The part that sends power to your MBP is not the part to cheap out on.
But if you are decent with solder, the cable can be spliced (I often buy a new cable and add it to the end of the damaged one, to increase length.

I think you'all are overthinking this.
After the original went belly up I just got Chinese OEM copies on eBay, for about $18 each, I have one at home, one in the backpack, one at work. Several years later of them still work as new (except for the one somebody ran over with a forklift), no fraying, no fires, and no problems....

Count your blessings, then, max, because every non-Apple MBP power supply I’ve ever bought has been junk. And I’ve tried a lot of non-Apple MBP power supplies. OWC sold refurbs a couple of years ago and they were all junk too, (sorry OWC). I hate paying Apple prices on something so rudimentary but the alternatives were simply unacceptable.
Can’t wait for USB C charging. Works amazingly on my Chromebooks. Fast chargers are REALLY FAST. Regular USB chargers are PERFECTLY FINE, they just take a while.

I bought a MagSafe-1 charger from OWC a few months back. It was used, but genuine Apple, and it's been great so far.
