Like, how could he have made an attempt to subvert the election on January 6 without making a total fool of himself? Had he made any such attempt, the House could have gone into session and impeached him on the spot, and Nancy Pelosi would have been acting president at this moment and for a while longer. Either that or on January 6, McConnell and Schumer would have joined in a motion to overrule him and he would be facing going down in the history books as even more of a fool.
