Buc-ees billboard advertising highlights the experience of going there. Other stations billboards show their current gas prices. There’s a reason Buc-ees doesn’t. They are not competitive at least not for this particular GA location. I'm giddy over my gas prices sneaking under $5. I paid $4.80 a gallon yesterday and smiled. QT is one of the things I miss most about Georgia. Our gas station experience in places like San Francisco/Oakland is the crudest, raggedy experience you can imagine. You can't use a single bathroom at any station in those cities. Nope. Just give me the money while waiting in long lines because they only have a few pumps. Only out for a week now but I'm going to start spending a few months a year out here and expenses like that have me questioning my sanity. Re: Goal - Visit a Buc-ee's - A-Polly - 08-18-2022 There are a couple in Georgia. I've been to the one off I-75 near Warner-Robins, and was gobsmacked the first time — it is huge, like a Cracker Barrel gift shop combined with a truck stop combined with a Dick's Sporting Goods, with an unbelievably ugly (or cute? Tastes vary!) beaver statue out front. Pluses for those who pass through Georgia at odd hours (usually me) are that it's open 24 hours, has clean bathrooms with real doors, and provides some decent on-the-road coffee selections. A minus for me is not much regular food for vegetarians, although way too much sweet stuff and snacks. Others seem to really enjoy the barbecue in the middle of the store, the deli case full of different jerkies, and the wall of serve-yourself sodas and other cold drinks. I think some locations are smaller, but at the Warner-Robins store you can buy deer corn, camping equipment, barbecue grills, and lots lots lots more. You could do your Xmas shopping there. It also has enough pumps that I've never had to wait in line, and if you like ethanol-free fuel they provide more than one octane choice. There are a couple off I-95 in Florida, but I haven't visited one of those. For me it's a convenience stop on a long and boring drive. None of these internet photos really show the scale of the place — it is truly Texas-sized. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Goal - Visit a Buc-ee's - graylocks - 08-18-2022 graylocks wrote: It’s on I85 around exit 310 IIRC. yes the restrooms were very clean but so are the ones at any QT so that’s what I compare them to. Re: Goal - Visit a Buc-ee's - Grateful11 - 08-18-2022 They just opened one in Florence, SC and coming to NC next maybe. Buc-ee’s will open gas station stores in NC — eventually https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/whats-in-store/article261126537.html |
