Please don't start saying this unless you are joking.. there's a reason we need independent funding of research. yeah, I was afraid of this happening on a large scale. on a small scale, it will and is happening to keep local programs running. as it should. but for large projects, large studies, it really should not happen. this is different than funding universities to keep their research and staff and faculty employed.
