very nice. its too bad it can be so hard to place adult animals. next time the opportunity to adopt comes around, i'll definitely consider an adult.

True. It is difficult to find a home for dogs 4 years or older. I see many senior dogs at the shelter I volunteer. It's heart-breaking. They have been there for god only knows how long. Unless they get adopted they will end up ... Everyone is afraid of the medical costs involved in owning a senior dog.

the Seattle Humane Society adopts out dogs 7 (or maybe its 5) years or older for half price, and seniors can adopt them for free.

That is wonderful to know, Racer. I think there exists a sanctuary for senior dogs in the States. I don't have all the details.
