Man, you guys are so bitter. Let's see if Obama absolutely refuses to change course no matter what is going wrong or how much it hurts the country, like Bush has done for 8 years, and then we can talk about insufferable egos.

Yes.
It's rude, and a lot like gloating.

But.....
We need to hear from the folks who are going to be in charge. Especially since they are basically acting like they are in charge now, and the media and the current President are letting them.

The real question is can you make up your own seal and stand behind it and why is this the first time in nation's history we have need for it?

yes it bothers me and the use of a seal by him at this time seems silly to me. However, Obama's overall strategy in the election was to appear "presidential" at all times, which he did very successfully. This was necessitated in part by racism though, so there probably is/was a basis for him to take on the trappings of power in order to counteract those prejudices.

The first one: Yes; it's branding.

The second: I (for whatever my opinion is worth) don't see it as a need, but an opportunity. Just as some companies might be the first to perceive a benefit to doing things a certain way, Obama is the first to perceive a benefit in doing things a certain way. Using the Internet as he has, and this branding stuff, are two examples.
