Re: So long Blockbuster... - AAA - 04-07-2009 I don't understand why mega corporations don't evaluate each store every year to see whether it's holding up their fair share or not. Re: So long Blockbuster... - hal - 04-07-2009 In the mid 80s a ran a little mom and pop video store. Without a care, blockbuster moved in close by and ran our little biz outta town. I, for one, am enjoying this immensely Re: So long Blockbuster... - deckeda - 04-07-2009 For a minute, when I first read this I had that twinge companies fear --- of me instinctively canceling my account/ceasing to do business in order to not be dealing with "a loser." But that doesn't make sense, and I won't be doing that. (At least I don't think so. I REALLY need to check out what the local library has.) Re: So long Blockbuster... - lazydays - 04-07-2009 I have 238 movies in my queue, I'm saving the list outside of their website now in case they fold. Re: So long Blockbuster... - vision63 - 04-07-2009 It just means Netflix can raise their prices. Competition keeps prices sane. Re: So long Blockbuster... - (vikm) - 04-07-2009 I've posted before that I switched from Netflix to BB. I'm really surprised they can't make it work. For me, it's clear that they offer a better overall service than Netflix. Apparently that's not the case for most. As Racer X noted above, I like the option to go to the store if I choose to. I signed up under a plan that has unlimited in-store swaps plus I can rent a game for free once a month (which I would think families that have kids that game would like). I also never experienced the throttling with BB that NF hit me with. BB has just been better for me. I also think without the competition, NF rates will easily increase another 10-15%. Not good. Re: So long Blockbuster... - DaviDC. - 04-07-2009 Blockbuster got LOTS of money from me over the years but not since I joined Netflix about 8 years ago. I'm not sure how well its really working out for Netflix. |
