On second thought, I bet there's also a nutritional reason for using tahini. There is probably a very different mix of amino acids in tahini versus PB. Might be important to vegetarians.

short answer is yes. I saw a Good Eats episode on peanuts, and he made hummus with peanut butter.

I make home-made hummus all the time in my Cuisinart, but I use tahini.

I use a Graham Kerr recipe, and use way more garlic, and I roast it first.

I will try and remember to post it when I get some time to write it down, along with my notes for the way I tweak it. I can get kids to eat this stuff.

I did a google search, and this post is #4..... Big Brother is watching......
