C(-)ris,

You know full well that is not what the author of the article is trying to tell us. That line was intended to show the Dell Mini 9 was a capable netbook that could be mistaken for an actual Apple computer when Os X is installed on it. The Dell Mini 9 is that nice as compared to other netbooks.

The author should have said: "Now you see why the Dell mini 9 is capturing so much attention ...It's a Mac Netbook ..."

I knew what he probably meant, but I bet most non technical people would have no clue and would read it the way he wrote it and take that meaning.

Hal,

Never said they were Macbooks. To say they are would be just as ridiculous as saying they are nothing alike. They are both notebooks but geared for entirely different markets.

Robert

I would sooner say that a macbook is the same as a macbook pro than a macbook the same as a dell mini. The dell mini is a very different creature. I wouldn't put it into the same category as a macbook at all.

That is a good article.
It might be enough to convince those who want one but are unsure of its performance.

That looks harder to type on than an iPhone/iPod touch.

Hal,

You (as well as C(-)ris) are looking into the article and nitpicking over semantics. Neither the author nor I are putting the Dell Mini 9 in the same class as a Macbook. If Apple sold the Dell Mini 9 with an Apple name, you'd be calling it a Macbook in the same way that an IPod Nano is still an ipod but not in the same class as for the sake of argument an iPod Touch. Just a Macbook "mini" or whatever Apple deemed it.

It's not. The only key that's a problem for me is the apostrophe key. How they came up with the placement for that is beyond me.

Technically we are not reading into it at all and taking it literally as it is written. But I do see your point and agree.

Just have to find out how to get ahold of one of those replacement keyboards:
