HP photosmart premium is similar to the officejet 6500 posted above. I got mine for $199 at BB.
I used Epson for more than a decade, and I also tossed a dozen printers with clogged nozzles. HP print quality seems fine, and I've not had any of the problems with my HP ink jets.
