I can't help but wonder if the person who died and as a result contributed the heart doesn't somehow feels twice victimized.

Politics aside, this never should have happened.
He's simply too freaking old.
My uncle lasted nearly 20 years with his heart transplant.
Cheney's advanced age and prior health issues mean he'll get more on the order of 20 months.
A younger person could have made far better use of such a scarce medical resource.

I poked around last night looking for stats, and found nothing to suggest that he doesn't stand a good chance of getting at least 5 or 10 years out of it. Where did the 20 month figure come from?
