Or do something about it to help prevent the deaths in the first place. It's so naive to pretend we'll do away with mental illness or crimes of passion or violent tendencies, we never will. If cars were as dangerous now as they were a few decades ago, we'd all be going to a lot more funerals. And the manufacturers and drivers didn't make the changes voluntarily. Somebody had to have an "agenda" to "control other people's lives" in order to keep them alive. We could significantly reduce gun violence, so far we lack the will.
