I do miss the click wheel sometimes, but since the touch never had one, it's no loss to switch away. I tend to only use the Random function when playing music and I don't ever utilize the voice recognition features of my car (but I guess I should... I paid for them, after all), so I probably wouldn't encounter the same problems you did.
