Congratulations!! After 51 years you deserve some down time. I've found retirement to be the best job I ever had and hope you will too. You'll find plenty to keep you busy and if you are married, wife's are good at finding things. Enjoy!

Wow! 51 years? I tip my hat to you, Sir!

Congrats on your retirement. You've earned it!

One thing I've noticed since I've retired is that work takes up a big chunk of your day. I can't even imagine spending 8 or more hours of my day for employment.

Thank you all for the well wishes. Yes, it's been a great ride. I started as a 21 year old fresh out of college and went into the Peace Corps with my wife. That's where I got hooked on teaching. I still love the classroom. I didn't want to leave when I was all burned out and bitter. High school kids were great for all those years teaching Biology in NJ, but when I retired from that and moved to NC, I started teaching Anatomy in a Community College here. I also love teaching mostly adults now and I've only did it part time these last 13 years.

My wife and I leave for a trip to eastern Europe in a week. The adventure continues. Now maybe I'll have time to figure out how to post pictures on this forum! That shouldn't take more than a couple of months anyhow.
