That was my first thought but that still leaves 11 x 9 and 12 x 8 so the area could be either 99 or 96. Something is obviously wrong (or I'm obviously delerious). At the very least, the wording should be 12 inches or more.
In solving math problems, one does not base one's solution on what one guesses is being asked - one bases one's solution on what has been asked.
