I was told to include a paragraph explaining where this language came from..what i was hoping for was for someone to recognize the language..which would have happened and was the 'point' of the post..I don't want or need to be told how to frame my posts..as drivels, nonsensical and obtuse and stupid as they may be. It always makes me suspicious in instances like these where someone doesn't understand something and they knee jerk towards taking it as sinister-malicious-nasty-..these kinds of responses are dangerous and reek of people who can't accept the "different" and are fearful of it... Re: Censoring harmless posts... - GuyGene - 09-26-2016 My favorite forums I'm on are the ones that just don't tolerate ary cussin' at all. We simply don't need it. Being a geezer Vietnam vet, me old ears (and way back, me mouth) hea d it all, and it's useless, and mostly harmful to boot. I know nothing of that PBS show, so can't comment, but I also don't like this PC mess we've gotten into. Re: Censoring harmless posts... - Filliam H. Muffman - 09-26-2016 I recognized it as "Ubbi Dubbi" because a high school GF used to speak it with a friend as a sort of secret language (early 1977 IIRC). When I saw the post I, wondered if there was an internet translator that generated it, or if Kraniac went through the tortured process of typing it out. Muffman wrote: FillianMuffer, http://pbskids.org/cgi-registry/zoom/ubbidubbi.cgi I used the translator but I used to speak it fluently and understand it with zero effort..most of my friends did..it was a fairly wonderful thing. I could get my chops back..speaking it. Typing it is a whole different thing though..the rhythmic bouncy nature of it was helpful in becoming instinctual with it - speaking and understanding I had friends who could just run it and it was amazing to hear. This is what I was told by the Admin Mod regarding my second post in Ubbi Dubbi without a cuss word (extremely camouflaged cuss word) --"You have to remember - a good majority of your peers are older than Zoom as well. And there are some very crotchety old farts around here that DO report posts like yours because, well, they want you to get off their lawn."-- Sort of extreme,, Re: Censoring harmless posts... - Racer X - 09-26-2016 vision63 wrote: Loved Zoom too. I think Amy spoke it on Big Bang Theory at least once. Re: Censoring harmless posts... - sekker - 09-26-2016 Sorry if anyone got upset over the post, the censoring process, or this thread. I appreciate this community, from the admin to those posting what I like to those that post what I have no clue about (which is the entire case here).
