What would be the best place to buy an iPod Classic at this time?

Can't say. But GameStop (online) is still a decent way to find a used iPod. Don't have any experience doing so however.

Have purchased 3 low-end iPods from Gamestop, they did a great job at refurbishing and adding new charging cables. earbuds and a charger.
