Fords programming would have brought the HP up quite a bit. But, given the problems with its big brother, Ford backed out. Nissan is suppposedly working with Navistar on an updated version of this engine.
With diesel ~30% higher than unleaded, and the new emissions equipment increasing the price and complexity of these engines, it will be interesting to see if the market really exists.
