If you live in a boat? - archipirata - 07-11-2010 Do you pay property taxes? Re: If you live in a boat? - M A V I C - 07-11-2010 Are you talking about a house boat, living in a boat in international waters, a marina...? House boat usually has a permit they have to pay for, they probably have to pay property taxes. In a marina, probably not but you may not be allowed to live in all marinas. Re: If you live in a boat? - OWC Jamie - 07-11-2010 you pay a real personal property tax (usually an excise tax) just like a car or motorhome. Re: If you live in a boat? - mrbigstuff - 07-11-2010 not yet. Re: If you live in a boat? - nwyaker - 07-11-2010 Depends on the state, municipality. ...does that make you.... - RAMd®d - 07-11-2010 ...the man in the boat? Re: If you live in a boat? - testcase - 07-11-2010 The dock fees probably have the marina property taxes rolled into your rent. If that's the case no, there not deductible for you. Re: If you live in a boat? - wurm - 07-12-2010 RAM FTW ![]() Re: If you live in a boat? - Mini 9 - 07-12-2010 My Q is if you don't have a permanent address. Why does one have to pick ONE state to have a permanent address? That's old stuff. I mean, I can travel in my RV and live from place to place, why should I have to be governed by any one state? (or country for that matter?) Re: If you live in a boat? - olnacl - 07-12-2010 In 15 years living aboard, I paid no property taxes. Boat was documented in FL and also had Bahamian registry. |
