Bottled my mead today - lazydays - 05-09-2012 I've had five gallons of mead aging for the last year and today I bottled it. Soon happiness will rein supreme. Re: Bottled my mead today - Paul F. - 05-09-2012 Mead? Really! Cool! Re: Bottled my mead today - ztirffritz - 05-09-2012 I had a recipe for mead that involved burying it in the yard. The logic was that you'll be too impatient to consume it so the instructions said to bury it for 10-12 months and put a reminder on your calendar. Oh, and don't mix with Vicodin. Nice summer drink. And some coffee liquor last week. Next week I'll make some sangria for a weekend party Re: Bottled my mead today - mikebw - 05-09-2012 Mead? Do want! Re: Bottled my mead today - lazydays - 05-09-2012 I made the mead last year sometime and stuck it in my fermentation fridge to control the temp. I literally forgot about it until this spring when I brewed a batch of beer, went to put it in the fridge, and there was the mead! Re: Bottled my mead today - dmann - 05-09-2012 Ombligo- about to make my first batch of Limoncello. Any tips??? I'm hosting Mother's Day brunch on Sunday and my dad is bringing his fabulous sangria. Can't wait! DM Re: Bottled my mead today - lazydays - 05-09-2012 I've never had either of those drinks. What are they like? Thread jacked my own thread. Re: Bottled my mead today - dmann - 05-09-2012 Limoncello is a lemon infused vodka that is sweetened with some simple syrup. It is used as a palate cleanser/degustivo. Served chilled. It can also be used as the base for many cocktails. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limoncello Sangria is a combination of wine and fruit. There are a million different recipes out there, but the best thing to do is experiment until you find your own. We like red wine based and white wine based . ![]() L'chiam! DM |
