ISO; 2.5" FW enclosure - mrbigstuff - 10-15-2013

in order to reuse one of my MBP drives.

I will use it for my FW400 iMac, but could buy the FW800 cable if need be, obviously.

I think I've got a FW400 to 2.5" IDE enclosure somewhere if you're interested.

Oh, you want to use it with SATA? Nevermind.

no, no SATA, using on an old iMac G4 as my music server.

Either the drive is from a Powerbook, not a Macbook Pro, or yes, you do need an SATA enclosure.

ah, i need a SATA enclosure, yes, but not an external SATA.

If that G4 has USB 2, thats more than fast enough -- USB cases are $5, not $50...

Re: ISO; 2.5" FW enclosure - mrbigstuff - 10-15-2013

no on the USB 2.0, which is why I need to use the FW port.

If you get that OWC version, you'll have to add a FW400 to FW800 converter cable, too. And maybe the AC power adapter.

yes, it's getting sort of expensive. but, I would like to reuse this drive. maybe i'll just mothball it for the moment.
