Recommendation drip system setup. - Microman - 05-16-2017 Daughter has a small area at her Condo, where she lives. She wants my help in setting up a Drip System for her Water Tolerant plants, and Herb garden. At my house I converted my big sprayers that I had installed in the flower beds to run those hoses, and then end at a plant with a controlled flow. (Not drip, but on a timer). I suppose with hers I could do something similar, I will stop by Home Depot today, to see if they have a starter kit and see what would be involved. Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - Filliam H. Muffman - 05-16-2017 From my experience, do not be tempted by a battery-powered controller. Get a 110 volt powered sprinkler system controller and put in standard water valves with filters, supplying a pressure regulator to drip irrigation tubing. Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - OWC Jamie - 05-16-2017 I've had good luck with the Orbit battery controller for a end of faucet controller. I've had good luck with Melnor manual controllers but they don't seem to last a second year. ( they don't shut off ) I also use drip tapes but that's not for around the house plantings. Whatever you use get a particle filter. Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - Spiff - 05-16-2017 I got this system online from Home Depot ( not sold in stores). Very easy to set up. It can be as easy as hook up to a faucet and turn it on and off manually, or they do have timers to use with the system as well. Personally, I have hooked my system up to an out door faucet and I turn it on when needed. http://www.digcorp.com/drip-irrigation-homeowner Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - NewtonMP2100 - 05-16-2017 ....stay away from post nasal......drip.... Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - davemchine - 05-16-2017 I used the Orbit with the associated kit. Very easy to do. I have two at my house and one at my mother's house. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004INGS8S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - Microman - 05-16-2017 Spiff, when I click your link, it goes to their homepage, with a number of KITS. Which one did you buy. I just left my Home Depot, and they have Kit for Flowerbeds, and ground cover (Dripline), Rasided bed) and Landscape Drip Watering Kits, all seem to be in the $16.97 range. Just not sure how to connect to water line, and timer and pressure regulator if needed. Will check around the DIG site, and see if they have any instructions. Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - Fritz - 05-16-2017 I bought from these guys last year. They have a large variety of kits and .... I'm happy with the purchase. https://www.dripirrigation.com/index.php/ Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - OWC Jamie - 05-16-2017 filter - timer - pressure reducer ( if your emitters require low pressure ) ![]() Re: Recommendation drip system setup. - Spiff - 05-17-2017 Looks like I got this one... http://www.digcorp.com/homeowner-drip-irrigation-products/ge200-drip-micro-sprinkler-kit The connections to the faucet are included. There is a flow limiter and a back flow preventer included as well as a screen to filter out particles.
