Recommendation drip system setup.
#1
Daughter has a small area at her Condo, where she lives. She wants my help in setting up a Drip System for her Water Tolerant plants, and Herb garden.

At my house I converted my big sprayers that I had installed in the flower beds to run those hoses, and then end at a plant with a controlled flow. (Not drip, but on a timer).

I suppose with hers I could do something similar, I will stop by Home Depot today, to see if they have a starter kit and see what would be involved.

From my experience, do not be tempted by a battery-powered controller. Get a 110 volt powered sprinkler system controller and put in standard water valves with filters, supplying a pressure regulator to drip irrigation tubing.

I've had good luck with the Orbit battery controller for a end of faucet controller.
I've had good luck with Melnor manual controllers but they don't seem to last a second year. ( they don't shut off )

I also use drip tapes but that's not for around the house plantings.

Whatever you use get a particle filter.

I got this system online from Home Depot ( not sold in stores). Very easy to set up. It can be as easy as hook up to a faucet and turn it on and off manually, or they do have timers to use with the system as well. Personally, I have hooked my system up to an out door faucet and I turn it on when needed.

I used the Orbit with the associated kit. Very easy to do. I have two at my house and one at my mother's house. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IN...ge?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Spiff, when I click your link, it goes to their homepage, with a number of KITS. Which one did you buy. I just left my Home Depot, and they have Kit for Flowerbeds, and ground cover (Dripline), Rasided bed) and Landscape Drip Watering Kits, all seem to be in the $16.97 range.

Just not sure how to connect to water line, and timer and pressure regulator if needed.

Will check around the DIG site, and see if they have any instructions.

Looks like I got this one...

The connections to the faucet are included. There is a flow limiter and a back flow preventer included as well as a screen to filter out particles. It was all very self explanatory.

billb illustrates well how the components fit with one another...

Hope this helps!
