There are two versions. Sprint/Verizon (CDMA) and ATT (GSM)

The Verizon does both CDMA & GSM, while the ATT is GSM only. Not sure about Sprint's variant, tho IIRC, Sprint makes you jump thru more hoops to unlock, while Verizon's of that vintage were unlocked.

== Sprint does have issues with unlocking. But they have gotten better about accepting Verizon Phones.
IIRC, the only universal phone is an unlocked from Apple.
