Advice on Amazon thinks "Delivered" but not delivered - TheTominator - 12-03-2019

Over a week ago I purchased from Amazon two small and inexpensive items from different third-party vendors with the items "fulfilled by Amazon". Both were shipped in the same package and Amazon marked them as "Delivered" the instant that Amazon fulfillment dropped it off at my local USPS post office. This is obviously wrong.

The post office has so far failed to deliver the package after USPS tracking indicated "Nov 23, 2019: USPS in possession of item" followed by "In Transit to Next Facility" with the last update with this message on Nov 27. Another package from Amazon containing the third item on that same online order arrived to the post office on Nov 23 and was delivered by my local USPS carrier that morning. (That other package had also been marked by Amazon as Delivered the instant the package hit the post office.)

Is my next step to contact the post office and get them to update the tracking to Lost or Thrown in a Ditch? I presume that their computers are aware that my package is in limbo.

Should I reach out to Amazon and try to convince them that my package was not delivered. I see no online interaction path via the Amazon Orders page to suit my situation. According to them the package was delivered so I need to "Return or Replace". I don't see a way for me to communicate that the package was not delivered and that the tracking backs me up on this. The two items were from different vendors so I'd need to contact them individually.

go into your order history, and with each recent order there is a way to report an issue/contact amazon.

Yeah, I think amazon purposefully makes this difficult - start here and have your order number. Once you talk to someone it should be resolved quickly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us

.....is the 'missing' package Fedex or UPS package contracted to USPS.....????


....those are slow to be delivered......have had packages arrive @ facility and can sit there for days before being delivered.........its worse than USPS media mail (if it isn't media mail)....

Amazon thinks this order is completed and delivered.

No obvious path to report a problem, but the Leave seller feedback path suggests a "Contact Amazon" which sends me to a Help page where I can discover that none of the topics fit but there is a Need More Help which provides another Contact Us link letting me "Start chatting now" or request a phone call.

I'll try the Start chatting now.

No, it appears to be Amazon's own shipping unit handling my package all the way to my local USPS.

Why not call them and tell them it was never delivered and they are in error? Sucks to spend time on the phone, but I've just put it on speakerphone while on hold, done other things, and after I talked to them resolved the problem each of the few times I've called over the years.

I chatted with the Amazon bot for a while until it deemed my dialog too creepy and handed me to a real person.

Lathifa offered to refund my money and I accepted.


So.... happy ending I suppose.
