Re: iPhone has company - samintx - 02-08-2007 I like the cute little MOT RED cell for valentine's day. Re: iPhone has company - jdc - 02-08-2007 5mp camera? in a phone? Re: iPhone has company - spearmint - 02-08-2007 It has both touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard which give it an advantage over the iPhone. Re: iPhone has company - stephen - 02-08-2007 That thing looks exceedingly sweet. Unfortunately, the announced version doesn't have HSDPA broadband on any frequencies used in the US. They would have to make a different US version. Re: iPhone has company - M A V I C - 02-08-2007 [quote spearmint]It has both touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard which give it an advantage over the iPhone. The iPhone has a qwerty keyboard as well, and it doesn't waste physical space by serving only one function. Re: iPhone has company - karsen - 02-08-2007 That keyboard doesn't waste space since it slides out. That phone looks niiiiice! Re: iPhone has company - mattkime - 02-08-2007 >>That keyboard doesn't waste space since it slides out. It wastes depth! How can you look at another phone?? The iPhone HATES YOU!!! Re: iPhone has company - Silencio - 02-08-2007 Slide-out keyboard = thick as a brick. It's about 5mm thicker than the iPhone. Hmm, I wonder what OS it's running. Definitely not Windows Mobile, at least. It actually looks like a fairly well thought-out UI from the product shots: maybe a Linux variant. I'm slightly intrigued, though I have been very unimpressed with the quality of Samsung phones lately. Speaking of iPhone, I highly recommend the series of cell phone/mobile platform analyses posted on RoughlyDrafted.com. I think they very clearly lay out where Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and Symbian went wrong and show that iPhone and OS X really do have a big opportunity to make some serious noise in the smartphone market. They also have very instructive price comparisons between the iPhone, LG Prada, and SonyEricsson P990. Spoiler: the iPhone has significantly better features and costs less. |
