However, the Republicans blew any chance of that by swinging so far to the right it became ridiculous even to our moderate-to-right populace. The people of the United States have voted to let the pendulum swing back toward the center. I don't expect the Republicans to let it happen gracefully, but I wish they would. Re: Should we nationalize the government? - Ted King - 12-03-2008 I think those who are more pragmatic than ideological are generally better at governance than those who are more ideological than pragmatic. For the last 8 years we've had too much of the latter and not enough of the former. Hopefully, during the next several years we'll see more pragmatism and less ideology. I think there is a very good chance we will. |
