Converting PC Tiff to Mac Tiff - spacescape - 03-30-2009 I have been asked to convert 130 TIFF files which are all "PC TIFF" to "MAC TIFFS". I can automate this so not really a big deal. However, is there an easy way in Photoshop to "CHECK" to see how the original file was saved? If not, any small apps to do so? Just want to double check that they have been all converted to Mac Tiff's when I'm done. Oh, and what the heck is the difference? The PC Tiff's are importing into Mac Quark just fine. Bill Re: Converting PC Tiff to Mac Tiff - weapon - 03-30-2009 as far as I know there is no difference except that the preview image. If you are getting paid to do it, that is found money... Re: Converting PC Tiff to Mac Tiff - Racer X - 03-30-2009 Not true. Some PC applications that work with tiffs can't open Mac byte order tiffs. I'd bet my house on that, would you? Anybody dealing with TIFFS x-platform these days shouldn't have a problem, in my experience. Re: Converting PC Tiff to Mac Tiff - Doc - 03-30-2009 I wouldn't use Photoshop for this. I'd use GraphicConverter, saving www-ready so there's no icon/resource-fork issue if the files have to be transferred back to a PC at some point. Someone owes me a free house. Re: Converting PC Tiff to Mac Tiff - C(-)ris - 03-30-2009 There are plenty of RIP applications that don't like Mac tiffs. Granted, most are older. But you would be surprised how many print shops run off 8 year old hardware and software. |
