Soliciting high protein smoothie recipes - pinkoos - 09-23-2009 Good morning, It seems that we have a smoothie-related thread every now and then, so I thought now is as good a time as ever for another one. Anyway, I'm looking for recipes for high protein, generally non-fruity smoothies that one can easily and quickly make at home. I'm a particular fan of Smoothie King's high protein almond mocha to give you a general idea of what flavors are desirable. Other flavors include coffee, chocolate, vanilla, etc. Although I'm not averse to high protein fruity smoothies, I'd prefer recipes that incorporate the above. If you have a good banana-type smoothie recipe, that is okay. Anyway, if you can be as detailed as possible in terms of ingredients, brands, amounts, etc., that would be great. Thanks. Re: Soliciting high protein smoothie recipes - mikebw - 09-23-2009 Without fruit I don't know what you will use to make up most of the volume, except yogurt. I have a big container of Trader Joe's soy protein that I add a scoop of to my creations, and we also have some ground up flax seed which is good. TBLS), Flax seed (1 TBLS) and sometimes a little Splenda. I usually use frozen fruit and then ad Cranberry juice and blend to preferred texture. Sometimes add a yogurt container for something smoother and different. Re: Soliciting high protein smoothie recipes - mikebw - 09-23-2009 If you don't like bothering with fresh fruit you can always get a bag of frozen mixed berries. Bananas are very easy and good to use, as well as strawberries- you can just toss the whole thing in there (the strawberry, not the banana). So for me I generally use 1 banana, 5-6 strawberries, 1 scoop of protein, 1 scoop of flax seed, and some orange juice or maybe apple cider. You can also add honey if it's not sweet enough.
